Melt Indexer (Melt Flow Indexer)

Melt Flow Index Tester (Melt Flow Indexer/Plastometer) is used for determination of MFR (melt mass-flow rate) and MVR (melt volume-flow rate), which are indicators of fluidity of thermoplastic polymer, according to ISO 1133 (JIS K 7210) and ASTM D1238.

【Features & Benefits】 • 100 test conditions can be registered on the touch-screen for easy operation. • A full range of optional features such as piston travel transducer, automatic cutting device, die-plug etc. • The automatic cutting device reduces the variation by the measurer, enabling accurate and safe testing. • Optional testing software allows the measured data to be viewed on a PC in real time, so that trends in MFR and MVR can be visually grasped while viewing graphs. • An optional automatic load-switching unit allows for multiple-weight measurements in which multiple loads are applied in a single test. Its built-in weights contribute to improved operability and safety.

Semi-Automatic Melt Indexer - "Semi-Auto Melt Indexer 4A"

Semi-automated melt indexer (MFR/MVR measurement device, melt flow tester) for load elevation, residual resin extrusion, and furnace cylinder cleaning, etc.

- Equipped with a measurement automation unit, it automatically performs a series of operations from the start of measurement after sample input to the end of measurement. - The load of the test weights and the discharge of residual samples are performed automatically, contributing to reduced operator workload, improved safety, and shortened working time. - By arbitrarily setting the preheating conditions (preheating time, piston holding position, and holding time), the actual preheating time until measurement starts can be kept constant, enabling stable measurements. - With the furnace cleaning unit, the cleaning of the furnace cylinder can be done simply by setting a gauze.

Automatic load switching (multi-weight) / melt indexer

This is a melt indexer capable of multi-weight measurements as specified by ASTM D1238 Method D, in addition to standard single-weight measurements.

【Features】 ■ A load range from 0.325kg to 21.6kg is pre-installed in the device. By automatically selecting the weights, the operator's burden is reduced, and the safety of the operation is improved. ■ Up to three steps of load increase and decrease (multi-weight measurement) can be performed automatically in a single test. This allows for the determination of the flow rate ratio (FRR), which is commonly used as an indicator of how the rheological properties of thermoplastic plastics are affected by the molecular weight distribution of the material. (ASTM D1238 Method D) ■ It can also be used as a standard single-weight measurement melt indexer (MFR/MVR measuring device, MFR meter, MI meter, melt flow rate testing machine).
